The Power of a Federated Hospital Network Across Europe: Unlocking Real-World Evidence at Scale

As real-world evidence (RWE) increasingly informs clinical decision-making, regulatory assessments, and health-economics evaluations, the ability to generate insights from large, diverse, and quality-assured hospital datasets has become essential. LynxCare’s federated hospital network is designed to meet this need by combining EU geographic reach with a data quality framework and a robust governance framework, enabling multi-country, multi-site research while ensuring full compliance with privacy requirements.

Network reach across Europe

Our network brings together hospitals across Europe, each contributing clinically rich datasets that remain securely within their own environments. Built on trusted, long-standing relationships with hospital partners, this ecosystem enables access to insights from high-quality healthcare data and supports long-term, collaborative RWD generation. Its geographic and clinical diversity strengthens the representativeness of study cohorts, enhances feasibility assessments through clear insights into patient availability and data completeness, and accelerates study initiation thanks to harmonised data models and automated quality checks—all within a privacy-preserving, ethically governed framework that facilitates meaningful multi-institution research.

How the Federated Model Works

LynxCare applies a federated analytics approach, allowing researchers to analyse sensitive clinical data across multiple institutions without transferring or centralising any patient-level information. Raw data remains inside each hospital’s secured infrastructure.

• Analytical queries are executed locally within each institution.

• Only aggregated, non-identifiable outputs—never individual-level data—are shared.

• Hospitals retain full control over access, usage, and governance.

This model reduces the regulatory, ethical, and operational hurdles often associated with multi-institutional data projects while enabling meaningful, large-scale qualitative clinical insights.

Enabling multi-country and multi-site studies

Federation unlocks research opportunities that traditional data-pooling models cannot easily support.

• Cross-border research with no data movement: Hospitals can join scientific initiatives and collaborative RWE studies without exposing patient-level information outside their own systems.

• Streamlined feasibility: Life sciences partners can quickly understand patient availability and data maturity across multiple centres, enabling stronger forecasting and reducing project risks and delays along the way.

• Privacy-preserving analytics at scale: Federated analytics enables privacy-preserving, large-scale analysis of real-world clinical data across multiple hospitals.

• Infrastructure designed for long-term research programmes: A single setup supports both one-off studies and ongoing, multi-year research collaborations.

Ways to Participate in the Network

• Join as a data partner: Hospitals and clinical networks will benefit from a LynxCare built OMOP-CDM mapped dataset enriched with NLP-extracted information from clinical free text and subject to rigorous quality assurance. Participation enables scientific collaboration, supports multicenter research, and facilitates contribution to international publications.

• Request feasibility as a research partner: life sciences can submit feasibility requests to obtain estimated patient counts across LynxCare’s federated hospital network, and data completeness insights. Outputs follow recognised RWD standards (OMOP, FHIR) and include quality-assurance indicators to support robust planning for observational studies, clinical development, HEOR projects, and post-market evidence generation.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
